The milestone forms part of more than 25,000 orthopaedic procedures performed at the hospital since it opened in 1999, reflecting decades of care for Sunshine Coast patients including high-profile sports stars and music identities. 

Noosa Hospital CEO Michael Lewczuk said the achievement highlighted the strength of the hospital’s specialist orthopaedic team and its commitment to ensure local patients can experience exceptional care close to home.

Noosa Hospital's orthopaedic service combines dedicated orthopaedic theatres, access to intensive care and emergency services, 24-hour clinical support following discharge, and coordinated rehabilitation pathways designed to support patients throughout their recovery journey.

“Since opening in 1999, orthopaedic surgery at Noosa Hospital has evolved significantly, with the introduction of robotic and patient-specific technologies representing some of the most important advances we’ve seen,” Mr Lewczuk said.
